While classic fish sauces are made from fermented fish, this alternative is based on fermented soy sauce, which achieves a similarly intense umami taste through additional flavors, yeast extract and spices.

🍲 Vegan pho soup with an umami twist

Preparation:

  1. Bring the vegetable broth to the boil with cinnamon, star anise, ginger and onion.
  2. Cook the rice noodles separately, drain and add to the broth.
  3. Season with 1-2 teaspoons of CHOLIMEX vegan fish sauce.
  4. Serve with sprouts, tofu, cilantro and lime juice.

🌱 Marinade for fried tofu

Preparation:

  1. Mix 2 tbsp CHOLIMEX vegan fish sauce with 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp maple syrup and a little garlic.
  2. Marinate the tofu cubes in it for about 30 minutes.
  3. Fry in the pan until golden brown and serve with rice.

🥟 Dip for spring rolls

Preparation:

  1. Mix 1 tablespoon of CHOLIMEX vegan fish sauce with 1 tablespoon of lime juice, a little water, sugar, chili and chopped garlic.
  2. Serve as a spicy dip with fresh or fried spring rolls.
